That's why we're excited to announce our partnership with Green Circle Salons, a pioneering company dedicated to helping businesses like ours become more environmentally friendly and carbon neutral.
Last year alone, Green Circle Salons recycled an impressive 1,284,437 pounds of waste. This is a significant accomplishment, especially considering the pressing need for sustainability initiatives in today's world. Unfortunately, Alaska finds itself among the top 10 states with the lowest recycling rates, largely due to inadequate waste management systems and limitations on recyclable materials.
With Green Circle Salons, we're taking a proactive step towards addressing these challenges. By utilizing their recycling center, we'll be able to recycle a wide range of materials commonly used in our salon and spa, including hair, hair color, tin foil, paper, cardboard, plastics, wax, wax strips, PPE, and cotton. This means that almost everything we use will be repurposed or recycled, significantly reducing our environmental footprint.
As a company operating in a $40 billion industry, we recognize the importance of taking responsibility for our impact on the planet. We're committed to using as many organic products as possible and partnering with other B Corps to promote sustainability throughout our operations.
While we understand that implementing these changes may come with some challenges and costs, we firmly believe that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.
